Job description
Monitor and advise, manage and implement relevant EU legislation in Europe. This role is a crucial point of knowledge for Europe how current and new legislation impacts in areas with high fines for non-compliance. This role is also an important contact with Europe authorities.

Key Tasks
· Assures that substance testing is done according to Orica standards and values
· Advise EMEA management and Legal Council on non-compliances, e.g. on REACH and GHS
· Support SHEC on interpretation of laws concerning environment, dangerous goods and operational safety
· Position holder is an important point of contact with regulatory authorities in Europe
· Stake holder management - Involve product management & manufacturing and other relevant stakeholders in different compliance projects
· Interacts with SIEF members on a regular basis and keeps them updated on the progress being made
· Manage creation and update of SDS (Safety Data Sheets)
· Manage REACH & GHS
· Manage CLP compliance with Orica entities around Europe
· Chemical advice on export control questions
· Assure proper registration of all Orica relevant substances by their given time lines
· Manage the outsourcing partner for any SIEF that Orica or Orica subsidiaries are the lead registrant for
· Participate and drive relevant questions within Expert commissions and branch organisations like Pre-Curser, FEEM etc.

Education and Experience
A graduate degree in Chemistry, with at least 10 year of practical experience, or PhD in Chemistry with at least five years of experience
